Belle Fourche, SD
Gary is a Belle Fourche native and has returned to his home town in retirement. He brings a wealth of musical experience having performed in symphony orchestras, concert bands, musical theater orchestras, church musicals and brass ensembles. In addition to the Center of the Nation Brass he currently plays in the Belle Fourche Cowboy Band, the Black Hills State Univ. Comm. Band and the Medicare Dixieland Band. Gary also arranges many of the pieces that the quintet performs.
Tracy plays trumpet and flugelhorn in the Black Hills State Univ. Comm. Band, Belle Fourche Cowboy Band, Newell Comm. Band, and Medicare Dixieland Band (even though she’s not that old). She is a professional dog obedience trainer, owner of Billabong K9 (Billabong Border Collies), and raises sheep.
Carol currently plays in the Black Hills State Univ. Comm. Band, Belle Fourche Cowboy Band, Northern Hills Comm. Band, and Newell Comm. Band. Previously she played in community bands in Clear Lake, IA, and Winterset, IA. She is a retired Iowa public school teacher and librarian now living in Spearfish, SD.
Kevin is a well-known area trombonist who is active with many performing groups: Black Hills State Univ. Comm. Band, Belle Fourche Cowboy Band, Northern Hills Comm. Band, Black Hills Symphony, SD American Legion Band, and Newell Comm. Band. He has also played in the pit orchestra for many area productions and is a member of the International Trombone Association. He lives in Spearfish, SD, and is an owner of EB Communications, a telecommunications company where he is a technician.
A native of Belle Fourche, Steve is active with the Belle Fourche Cowboy Band, the Northern Hills Comm. Band, and the Black Hills State Univ. Comm. Band. He has also played with the Anchorage Symphony, Alaska Blaskapelle, Anchorage Civic Orchestra, Anchorage Comm. Band, Village Brass, Denver Concert Band, Al Bedoo concert and dance bands, Billings Brass Society, Billings Comm. Band, and Tuba Christmases in SD, MT, CO, and AK. He is a retired employee from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and continues to work as a wildland firefighter.
